The History of the Lindenwold Police Department

The Lindenwold Police Department was established in 1929 when the Borough was incorporated. From 1890 to 1929 the residents of Lindenwold relied on Constables Streeton and Warner to patrol the town. The first Police Department was led by Chief Edmond Dunning and consisted of two full time Officers. The first two Officers were William Schooley and Hugh Shannon. The first Officers mostly patrolled on foot but sometimes rode bicycles.
